Biography

Chloé Chaume made her debut in May 2024 as Juliette (Gounod) in Hong Kong. That same season she returned to the role of Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust and to Massenet’s Thaïs at the Opéra de Toulon. She also sang Liane de Pougy in Lopez’s Gipsy and was invited to Hangzhou (China) to perform excerpts from French operas with the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles for the opening of the Virtually Versailles exhibition at the Winland Center.

Among her projects, she makes her Wagner debut in April 2025 at the Opéra de Tours with the Wesendonck Lieder, followed by role debuts as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen and Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Shanghai Opera House, and the soprano solo in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana; she also returns to Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette at the “Longgang Opera Week” festival. She can also be heard in Britten’s Les Illuminations and in a concert at the Chorégies d’Orange in July 2025.

In 2023 she sang Sylvabelle in Benatzky’s L’Auberge du Cheval-Blanc, Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Opéra de Reims and the soprano solo in Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle at La Filature in Mulhouse.

In the 2022 season she returned to the Opéra de Tours for her role debut as Thaïs under Michel Plasson, in a production by Jean-Louis Grinda, and then to the Opéra de Nice for Offenbach’s Le Voyage dans la Lune; she also sang Lisa in Lehár’s The Land of Smiles and Nadia in The Merry Widow at the Opéra de Saint-Étienne.

She also appears on the programme Musiques en fête, broadcast live from the Chorégies d’Orange on France 3.

In 2020 Chloé made her debut as the Countess in “Les Petites Noces”, after W. A. Mozart, at the Opéra de Rouen, the Opéra d’Avignon and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. She appeared at the Opéra d’Avignon, in a live broadcast, in the world premiere of Éric Breton’s “Le Messie du peuple chauve” as Elsa. Early in 2019 she returned to the role of Marguerite (Faust) at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège and then at the Opéra de Nice – a role in which she had made her debut in 2018 at the Opéra de Reims and then at the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz. That same year she made her debut in Verdi’s Requiem, and appeared at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in a “Sacré Rossini” concert.

Noticed by Mady Mesplé and then Jean-Yves Ossonce, Chloé Chaume began her career at the Opéra de Tours, where she sang many roles. She sang Lauretta (Les Fiançailles au couvent) in May 2015 at the Capitole de Toulouse, which invited her back for its Christmas concert with Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore.
