A show like no other

Lyrica is a bold, original creation that shakes up the traditional recital. It offers a lively, modern take on the classical repertoire (opera and operetta) by bringing it into dialogue with the world of tap dance – an unexpected artistic encounter between lyricism and percussion.

On stage, a close-knit quartet bursting with virtuosity: opera singer Mathilde Lemaire, pianist Charlotte Gauthier, and Dorel and Costel Surbeck, brothers and fifteen-time world tap-dance champions.

From the fiery passion of Carmen to the whimsy of Offenbach by way of the purity of Mozart, vocal flourishes intertwine with syncopated rhythms, while the piano becomes the bridge on this musical journey.

More than a concert, Lyrica is a unique visual and musical performance: a joyful moment out of time, where the voice dances, the feet sing and hearts keep the beat.

The performers

Mathilde Lemaire has won several international competitions, including the VoceAllOpera Prize in Corsica in 2024. She has sung at the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, the Opéra de Marseille, the Opéra de Nice and the Philharmonie de Paris, and will sing Vincenette in Gounod’s Mireille at the Opéra de Marseille in the 2026–2027 season.

A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in vocal coaching, Charlotte Gauthier works regularly for the major Paris theatres (Châtelet, Mogador, Marigny, Théâtre de Paris) as pianist, vocal coach or conductor.

Choreographers, writers and dancers, Dorel and Costel Surbeck have each won fifteen gold medals in competition. They have performed from Broadway to Moscow and created choreography for Disneyland Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Casinos Barrière.
